The Clyde F. Green Foundation for Children has set a number of guiding principles for our efforts in Malawi:
- Provide a variety of economic opportunities to improve the living conditions of the community
- Invest in quality education for elementary, middle and high school students.
- Provide for vocational and technical training.
- Improve connectivity with neighbors, bordering communities and the world community.
- Build partnerships with governmental agencies and farming coops.
- Forward a vision that will be assumed, expanded and led by the local residents.

Page 1 of 3 Executive Summary The Clyde F. Green Foundation for Children has the ability to bring together human resources to benefit the Malawian people. Teachers, trainers and professionals are awaiting opportunities to serve in humanitarian capacities. We are in a unique situation to have at our disposal United States citizens, African nationals and people from other parts of the world wanting to contribute to the development of other communities, locally and world-wide. These are trained and dedicated people who are searching for short-term and extended periods of working in the African continent. A Village comprehensive plan would be developed that would give general development guidelines and infrastructure design, along with other planning tools to guide future growth within the complex and surrounding community. This plan presented will strategically serve a particular region of Malawi, providing needed economic, agricultural, educational and medical services to that community. This survey team has been assembled to gather information needed for a particular region of Malawi. From the information brought back by the survey team, a deployment team will establish base operations. This team will further provide directions and coordination between governmental and commercial agencies for new construction and site coordination. The deployment team will be responsible for equipment acquisitions and other materials outlined in the Village plan.
Vision In January 2008, a project team was assembled to begin a planning process that would define a vision for an anticipated development in the country of Malawi. In response to the poverty and lack of education and social services for the entire country, the team strategically compiled information that would provide the foundation for a master plan. The resulting Economic Master Plan provides a framework and the steps to begin implementation, for both the landowner (private development) and government (public improvements). The Economic Master Plan, along with the Village Comprehensive Plan, general development guidelines, infrastructure design, and other planning tools will guide future growth within the Village area.
