| The history of the Clyde F. Green Foundation for children is a story of positive change in children’s lives. Nearly 35 years ago the love for helpless and impoverished children was planted in the heart of my father. He, with the help of his friends established the Central Florida Children’s Home. Since then, hundreds of throw-away children have passed through the Central Florida Children’s Home knowing what it is to be loved and valued. Nearly all of them are now good citizens in their community building good families. Since my father’s death in 1999 the foundation has not only supported the Central Florida Children’s home but also a number of local projects. The Carpenter’s House in Leesburg, Florida houses children who have come from outside the United States. The foundation supplements their tuition costs at a local private school to provide the educational needs of that family. The foundation also has sponsored the purchase of two vehicles for severely challenged young people. The foundation was the first to contribute to their great need. The Clyde F. Green Foundation for Children’s desire has always been to help children to be able to have opportunities to experience a better life. |
